FREE Entry into 72 Cultural Institutions (ie Botanical Garden) w/ NYC Public Library Card

New Yorkers with a public liberty card can get a Culture Pass that offers FREE admission to dozens of cultural institutions. All you need is a New York, Queens, and Brooklyn Public liberty card, which is Free for New Yorkers to obtain at their local library branch. Once you have your library card, you can verify your information on this site to download day-long Culture Passes. Only certain number of passes may be available for a given date, so reserve early if you have a date in mind. Each cardholder can also have only four active reservations at a time but there is no limit as to how many times one can use Culture Pass. There’s also a limit of Free entrance to each organizations only once per year for a given card holder. This is a huge savings as many of these spots share upwards of $20-30 for entrance.

Some of the participanting organizations includes the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Music School, Flushing Town Hall, Kaufman Music Center, Museum of the City of New York, New York Botanical Garden, MoMA, Solomon J Guggenheim Museum, Morris-Jumel Mansion, The Shed, Wave Hill, and many more.

To mark the 20th anniversary of September 11, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is offering FREE admission today. Advance tickets are strongly recommended. All visitors aged 12 and older are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter indoor areas, except for restrooms. Face coverings are required in some instances.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden has two collections in remembrance of September 11. Along the eastern and western edges of Cherry Esplanade are allées of scarlet oak trees, the Liberty Oaks, planted in remembrance of the events of that day and those who lost their lives. The Tree Peony Collection that blooms in the spring was presented to the Garden in 2002 by the Japanese town of Yatsuka-Cho in Shimane Prefecture to “bring peace of mind to the people of the United States.”
