FREE Entry into 72 Cultural Institutions (ie Botanical Garden) w/ NYC Public Library Card

New Yorkers with a public liberty card can get a Culture Pass that offers FREE admission to dozens of cultural institutions. All you need is a New York, Queens, and Brooklyn Public liberty card, which is Free for New Yorkers to obtain at their local library branch. Once you have your library card, you can verify your information on this site to download day-long Culture Passes. Only certain number of passes may be available for a given date, so reserve early if you have a date in mind. Each cardholder can also have only four active reservations at a time but there is no limit as to how many times one can use Culture Pass. There’s also a limit of Free entrance to each organizations only once per year for a given card holder. This is a huge savings as many of these spots share upwards of $20-30 for entrance.

Some of the participanting organizations includes the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Music School, Flushing Town Hall, Kaufman Music Center, Museum of the City of New York, New York Botanical Garden, MoMA, Solomon J Guggenheim Museum, Morris-Jumel Mansion, The Shed, Wave Hill, and many more.

A photo ID and Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit card, ATM card, or Check Card must be presented. The free admission is limited to the cardholder at the participating institution.

fieldtripGoogle is offering entry into 13 museums in 6 cities for FREE through its Field Trip App for Android or iOS for a limited time.

Field Trip is your guide to the cool, hidden, and unique things in the world around you. Field Trip runs in the background on your phone. When you get close to something interesting, it pops up a card with details about the location. No click is required. If you have a headset or bluetooth connected, it can even read the info to you.

Field Trip can help you learn about everything from local history to the latest and best places to shop, eat, and have fun. You select the local feeds you like and the information pops up on your phone automatically, as you walk next to those places.

If you are around one of the following 13 museums, you will get a Field Trip card with “Free Entry” in the title (check the ‘nearby’ tab). Show the card on your phone to the admissions staff and they’ll take care of the rest.
